Revamped Cambridgeshire home is bang on trend

The colours had been set, the scene was developing and the furniture was on order so it was rather a nice surprise when I heard the announcement from Dulux UK that the Colour of the Year for 2016 was ‘Cherished Gold’ (pictured above). This rather unusual hue, a deep yellow with a golden brown undertone, had been picked as one of several colours for a project to revamp a lounge.

The choice of ‘Yellow Ochre’ and ‘India Gold’ from the ‘Fleur’ range by Colour and Paint was far from random.
“I rarely choose colours for reasons of fashion but it seems we were bang on trend”, says Yasmin. “My client wanted to keep the colourful curtains which have a bold pattern in yellows and oranges over a white background, and they had already decorated one room in their new home using a modern mustard and grey scheme. We needed to pull it together as the two rooms are adjacent and it seemed natural to me to include rich warm golds in our colour palette.”
