Family gift ideas
Children and grandchildren adore friendly slippers. When I came across these at Hector and Queen I was transported to an animal world filled with adventure stories. The company, based in Gloucestershire, offers a range of items from clothing to furniture. Their eco nursery range of wooden furniture is what drew me to them in the first place. The handmade Tree House Bunk Bed is £2,878.00, and the Log Cabin wardrobe £2,260.00, and if either can be afforded you can be sure these treasures will make many happy memories. If you’re not in the market for furniture take a look at the slippers, I love them! They make a superb gift at £22.00!
The life of paper
Online calendars have replaced diaries. ‘To-do’ lists can be kept on our phones. We can record notes, in almost any form, with a click on the latest technical gadgetry. Does it make us more aware of the beauty of paper? Are we better able to appreciate the feel of a pen in our hand as we scribble lines on the page? Whether you keep a paper diary or just like to have a good notebook to hand you would do well to spend a few minutes looking at the Toad Diaries website. Here personalised notebooks suiting all age groups are available in a range of bindings, style, colour and paper. My 8 year old grandson is learning the piano and shhh – he’ll be getting a notebook containing blank sheets of music paper for his next present. You never know – there may be a composer in him!
Tastes in wine
Anyone who reads my blog regularly will know that I’m passionate to support UK based businesses, but anyone who knows me well knows that Spain comes a very close second in my heart. After learning more about Expovinalia I decided I’d pass on their details to you. They’re a commercial wine rack producer based in Zamora, Spain. Can you imagine having a large winestore, a place filled with bottles of hopes and dreams, where you can explore the labels, discuss the vintage, and delight in the heritage of the grape? There are some nifty wine racks available online that suit the domestic situation and this one defies gravity and will certainly be a talking point. What a great gift for that ‘difficult to buy for’ person in your life! Each wall hung rack stores 12 bottles, and measures 8 x 8 x 85cm. You can buy direct from Amazon, or, you can email direct to: Comercial@expovinalia.com. The cost is 45€, which includes transport to England.
A little thank you! These companies are supporting my local charity fundraiser. The event takes place on 8 July 2017 in Spaldwick village, Cambridgeshire. Hector and Queen donated a pair of Leopard felt wool slippers. Toad Diaries donated two £50 gift vouchers. Expovinalia, donated a wine rack. Your generosity is appreciated guys!
